A KP Government delegation visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Aug 23rd to Aug 25th, 2017 on the invitation of HDC (Halal Industry Development Corporation) an agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) of the Federal Government of Malaysia. The delegation comprised of Farah Hamid Khan Secretary Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Government of KP Ghulam Dastagir Chairman KP SEZA Hassan Ansari Chief of Strategy & Buisness Planning KP EZDMC The Hon CM KP Mr. Pervez Khattak was earlier scheduled to lead the delegation, but cancelled his visit due to Dengue outbreak in the province. During the visit the delegation attended the launching ceremony of the HALFEST ASEAN 2017, an expo of halal products at Kuala Lumpur. On this occasion the delegation had an exclusive meeting with the Federal Minister for International Trade and Industry. The delegation also carried out extensive negotiations with the officials of HDC in continuation of the MOU signed between the two governments regarding setting up of an exclusive Halal Special Economic Zone at Ghazi, District Haripur. On this occasion the Malaysian hosts offered their technical assistance to the Govt of KP for the control of Dengue based on the Malaysian experience of managing Dengue for the past 30 years. The delegation expressed gratitude on behalf of the Hon CM and people of KP and a Program of Collaboration was signed by Farah Hamid Khan Secretary IC&TE( on behalf of Govt of KP) for Malaysian assistance in setting up support protocols and systems to counter Dengue fever in KP.
