Mr. Saqib Raza Aslam
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suffered the worst consequences of terrorism over the years, resulting in extremely adverse effects on its economic growth. Now with the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb and return of peace in the province and owing to it’s strategic location on the CPEC, KP is witnessing an upsurge in economic activity and prospects of investments. Sustainable industrial activity is crucial for the economic growth of any region. In this backdrop the important role to be played by the department cannot be over emphasized. The department’s mandate is not only to create an enabling environment for sustainable industrialisation, but also to promote complementing activities like commerce, trade, technical education and vocational training. We are not only endeavouring to provide world class infrastructure and facilities for our existing and new industrial zones, but also trying to ensure availability of adequately trained human resource. KP government was the first province to announce its Industrial Policy in 2016 which has an attractive incentives package which is expected to go a long way in attracting investment to the province. We are also trying to take all necessary measures to prepare for the tremendous opportunities that are likely to arise due to CPEC which would go a long way in turning around the destinies of the people of KP.
